The Choice
"I place before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse. Choose life so that you and your children will live. And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him. Oh yes, he is life itself, a long life settled on the soil that God, your God, promised to give your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." Deuteronomy 30: 19-20
There are times, I find it hard to make decisions. I can agonize over which way to go, and what is the best thing to do. One way to decide is to remember that my God is a God of Life, and anything that promotes life is what He would want. It can be as simple (although difficult) as following the diet the Doctor gave me or getting out of the chair and going to the gym. Will it increase my life so God can work through me? Yes is the answer. It can be as serious as donating a kidney. Will it promote life? Yes, then I should do it if it saves another. When we feed the hungry, clothe the naked, uplift the spirits of the downtrodden - we are promoting life. Do we bless others or curse others? Do we bless or curse ourselves? We must chose life and blessing. The God of Life asks us to follow Him and His Way. He will then give us the greatest gift of all, eternal life with Him.
